The Northeast Region is one of five (5) Regions of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated. Chi Eta Phi is an international nonprofit service organization, which was chartered in 1932 at Freedmen's Hospital, now Howard University Hospital, in Washington, DC.  The current theme for the Sorority is "Developing healthy communities through, advocacy, collaboration, education, leadership, research and service."

In 1946, Boule' (National Conference) established a committee to divide the states into Regional districts. In 1953, the Northeast Region became the 1st officially organized Region of the sorority. This historic event took place at Provident Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland. At its inception, the Region had seven graduate chapters and one undergraduate chapter. As of April 2016, the Northeast Region has 26 graduate chapters and 17 undergraduate chapters. 

The Northeast Region of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. became incorporated on April 13, 2012.
